April 10, 2014

It's been a long month. I haven't even had time to write in the blog, pretty bad. It's hard to even remember where I left off, so I am going to jump forward some years. Dick and my husband met in the tavern where Dick was working part time to earn extra money. Over the years they became fairly good friends. When my husband would talk about playing cards or having a beer with Dick, I had no idea who he was talking about.
You see, my husband was starting to drink more and more as time went by and getting more and more abusive towards me. Our son had been born in 1967 and this was in 1969. I couldn't take it any more, he was hitting me on a regular basis and would be gone for days at a time. I left and took our baby with me.

I got a decent job working in the computer department of a large uniform company. I was making good money for a female in those days. I found a really good pre school for my son where he thrived. He was
so bright and learned so quickly the lady that ran the pre school loved working with him. During this time I ran into Dick twice, once at the grocery. He was surprised to see my son, it had been so lon since we
had seen each other he didn't know I had a son. I pretended to be in a hurry, I was so nervous being around
him, my heart was beating in my chest. Then once again briefly when we were coming out of church,

During this time I was promoted and was doing well on my job. I was taking my little boy to see his daddy and his grandparents every weekend. I wanted to make sure he knew who his daddy was and he loved
his daddy very much. Eventually my husband and I started talking and he promise he would stop drinking
work harder on being a husband and father. I fell for it and we agreed to try again.  I had saved enough
money from my job to put a down payment on a cute little three bedroom house, with a big fenced in back yard for the my little boy to play in.

Jumping back again when my son was born I had a rough labor and ended up after five days having an
emergency c-section. We were told that I would not be able to have any more children. This was devastating, but I thanked God for giving me my son. It turned out they were wrong. My husband and
I had been in our new home for a few months when I knew that we were going to have a baby. The
doctor thought I was crazy at first, she said you know you can't have another child. Then when she id the pregnancy test at my insistence She was shocked and then proceeded to tell me there was no way I could survive having this this child that I would have to abort the child. I refused, if God didn't want me to have
this child he would never have given it to me. I continued to work against doctors odors, but had no choice by then my husband was drinking heavy again and it was up to me to pay the bills. I went in the hospital for my c-section on Friday and they were going to take the baby on Monday. They couldn't, I was so
sick with uremic poison and had bronchitis so bad they wanted to clear some of this up first. I had been there a week when the baby decided he was waiting no longer. On Saturday at 3:15 in the afternoon my
son was born by c-section. He was beautiful and I got to see him for a few minutes before I stared
bleeding out and that was the last thing I remember for two weeks.

Third Base and Rounding Home

March 18, 2014

How my story begins is rather strange, let me introduce myself. I am Judi and my friend in this story is Dick.
Of course he is not only a friend he means much more than that to me. He is a very kind, gentle, and gracious man and at the same time a very stubborn, opinionated, and extremely bright man. He is quiet and
likes to sit and listen and observe people. He once told me he has learned a lot about mankind by just sitting
back, watching and listening to people.
We actually met for the first time in 1964. He had just went through a divorce and was working a second job as bartender at Slyders Tavern to make extra money for child support. I was bowling with my then
mother in law and sister in law at the Belmont bowling alley across the street from Slyders. We would walk
across the street after bowling to get something to eat and just talk. By the way Slyders had fantastic food then and they still do. Anyway we walk in one night and here is this new bartender behind the bar. Tall, black hair and the bluest eyes you had ever seen, good looking was an understatement. Yes, I was married,
but so was every other female with me and they were all looking harder than I was. You see, I was still a fairly new bride and crazy about my husband. We walked passed the bar to a table and as we did he
looked me right in the eyes and said right to me "Hello Pretty" I was so caught off guard I couldn't speak,
but every female with me answered him.
Enough of our brief introduction, we not to see one another again for five years.

Hello Everyone

March 17, 2014

Well here I am, I finally got it up and am writing the first post. They said it was easy to do, well they must not have been talking about a sixty eight year old that didn't even know what a blog was. But all in the same I did it because I was told it was a good way to tell my story. A story that is true but if I read it I would think it was either a lie or some crazy story of a very confused mind. I can assure you it is neither and even have the documents to prove what I am about to tell you.
In a way its going to be like reading a short story that you have to tune in tomorrow to see what happens next. I assure I am not doing this on purpose but these old fingers that don't type the best get sore and tired and I have to stop, so please try to forgive me for that.Igot this far tonight and tomorrow I will start a story that has taken place over the past nine months that you will find it hard to believe as true. A story of two senior citizents getting caught in such a heartless cold system that was suppose to be put there to help us when we got old and sick and needed help the most.
